Prototype Required DocumentationThe following files are required for basic board manufacturing:
For a simple run down of the gerber data layers please follow this link Please note that our order forms are parsed by a data base script reader. The order form contains fields that are hard coded into the script reader. Any modifications/removals/format changes (such as saving as a Word doc) of these fields will break the parser and force us to read the file by hand. This will result in delays in your order. Please do not change the field specifiers in the order form. Depending on the volume of data in queue we may not have an opportunity to correct the form before cut off, this could cause a delay with the order of a day or more. Failed order forms are examined after all other data processing and formatting is completed for the daily queue. Special InstructionsIf your order requires special handling that can not be specified in the order form please add them to a READ.ME file. Order Form users should specify that this READ.ME file exists on the "Special Instructions File Name" line of the order form. APClienttm users should indicate that this READ.ME file exists in the "notes" section. Gerber DataWe request that you identify your component layer by placing the text "Top" or "Component" on the layer. This is one of the few ways we can check for layer swaps or mirrored data. You can place the text OUTSIDE of the board parameter if you prefer. Text outside of a clearly marked board parameter will be removed and will not be included in the calculation of the board size. Some cad systems use a mechanical layer to store the board outline contours and inside cutouts. Other systems may store this on a keep out layer. Please ensure that you include this layer for correct dimensioning of your board. Our NC Router will cut to the inside edge of your contour line removing it completely. Please avoid running traces to the extreme edge of your design. There is bit deflection with the NC Router that could cut into traces placed adjacent to the rout path. We would recommend keeping traces at least .020 inches from the board perimeter. Basic Contour routing is free, this includes simple rectangles and circles. More complicated requirements will be charged based on complexity. Quick Checklist
